São Paulo – The Brazilian minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto, is seeking partnerships for setting up an office for the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (EMBRATUR) in the United Arab Emirates. The minister met this Tuesday (31) with the ambassador of the Arab country to Brazil, Saleh Alsuwaidi. Pictured above, Alsuwaidi (left) meeting with Neto (right).

Among the meeting topics were actions to increase the flow of tourists between the two countries and the possibilities of partnerships for EMBRATUR’s office in the UAE. The executives also spoke about Brazil’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, a world’s fair in the UAE, from October this year to March 2022. Brazil will have a pavilion at the event within the Sustainability district.

As announced by the Ministry, the Arab ambassador put himself at the minister’s disposal to organize a series of programs with sector partners in the UAE, both in the government and private sectors. In the latter sector, the goal is to present the investment opportunities in Brazil relative to hotels, national parks, and aviation to Arab business people.

For Neto, the potential of Brazilian ecotourism could bring excellent prospects for leisure and investment, especially after the pandemic. “For this reason, the Brazilian government has developed a series of actions to reduce bureaucracy in the sector and put an end to the barriers hindering the expansion of tourism in Brazil,” said the minister of Tourism in a statement.

With a schedule in the UAE starting in October, the minister is expected to participate in the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai and continue with a series of programs in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE. In his appointments, Neto intends to discuss the return of Etihad Airways flights to Brazil, the increase in the number of Emirates Airlines flights, and seek contact with Arab funds to expand investments in Brazil.
