Yemen: 10 die in fight between pro-gov’t forces, Houthis


(MENAFN) A military official said to Xinhua that on Sunday, Aug. 15 an overall of 10 persons died as pro-government Yemeni forces involved in armed confrontations with the Houthi militants in Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

The local military source noted on condition of remaining anonymous: "fresh armed confrontations erupted between units of the pro-government forces and the Houthi militia in Hodeidah's district of Tuhyata."

He noted that the armed clashes led to the death of seven Houthi rebels and three soldiers of the pro-government Yemeni forces.

He further said that other military units of the pro-government forces were sent to support the clashes against the Houthis in Tuhyata.
