Senior official requests increasing Xinjiang Production, Construction Corps
(MENAFN)A senior Party official has requested the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to be stronger through improvement and advance.
In a research tour to the region from Wednesday to Saturday, Wang Yang, which is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the comments.
Wang stated that its historical involvement is permanent and its planned role is rare, marking the development made by the corps in latest years.
He added that the corps should remain to make upholding steadiness and protecting the border its main mission, and called the corps to search multi-level and multi-form military-civilian collaboration mechanism and build up exchanges and common support with people of different ethnic groups.
