Indonesia: Police detains 13 suspected terrorists in Riau


(MENAFN) The National Police's counterterrorism squad recognized as Densus 88 has detained a number of 13 suspected terrorists in Indonesia’s province of Riau, stated the Indonesian police on Monday, Jun. 14.

Details of the detained suspects haven’t been released. The special unit is still probing the incident, stated the National Police's spokesman Ahmad Ramadhan.

Police drive against terrorism has been going for a number of years in Riau.

In August 2020, five suspected terrorists were detained in the Kampar district of the province. Densus 88 found a training location for terrorists in the very district during November 2019.
