Blaze at displaced camp in Lebanon leaves 1 dead, 4 wounded

(MENAFN) The National News Agency said in a report that on Friday, Apr. 23 a child was killed and another four were wounded in a blaze at a camp for dislocated Syrians in the town of Bhannine in northern Lebanon.

A source with the civil defense department said to Xinhua that its members extinguished a blaze in a camp for the dislocated, stating that the blaze damaged 10 tents comprising their possessions.

The source noted that the blaze was attributable to oil spilled by a woman while she was cooking, which caused the blaze in her tent and it then extended to other tents.

Lebanon includes almost 1.5 million Syrian refugees, most of them dwelling in around 1,400 informal camps.
