Iraq COVID-19 cases pass 600,000 mark


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Jan 7 (KUNA) -- Iraq on Thursday said daily coronavirus infections had risen by 790 to push the cumulative total to 600,755, health ministry data showed.
Some four virus-induced fatalities over the past 24 hours raised the country's death toll from the outbreak to 12,869, according to government figures, which showed that some 551,127 people have recovered from the disease to date.
The capital Baghdad continues to bear the brunt of the pandemic, having logged 288 cases over the last day, the data showed. (end)
