Iran's Energy Minister plans to visit Iraq tomorrow

(MENAFN)Iraq"s Electricity Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Abadi stated that, on Tuesday, Iran"s Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian manages to pay a visit to Iraq.

The Iranian energy minister is likely to talk about Iraq"s outstanding debts to Iran, he further said.

Iran has been providing Iraq with about 50 million cubic meters of gas per day but the gas exports were decreasing in last weeks, stated Asharq Al-Awsat.

To keep its power plants running, Iraq is importing gas from Iran but the country has confronted difficulties paying its debts to Iran in cash because of the U.S. sanctions on Iran.
