Qatar- Two Indian schools set to open 3,000 more seats next year: Embassy


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Two more Indian schools will start operation in Qatar from the next academic year. This was disclosed by Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr Deepak Mittal during an interaction with media yesterday at Embassy premises.

This will help add an additional 3,000 school seats for Indian diaspora in Qatar.

'There are 18 Indian schools are operating in Qatar. Two more new Indian schools are in the process of getting approval. H E Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar and the education authority showed strong support to open more schools to meet the need of largest expatriate community, said Dr. Mittal.

The two new Indian schools are a new campus by Noble Indian School and International British School in Bani Hajer, which will be converted to CBSE-curriculum school.

An Indian University will also open its branch here in Qatar in 2021.

'An Indian university (a campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University in Qatar) will open in second half of 2021 offering a lot of streams in BSc, BEd, BA and many other degrees, said Dr. Mittal.
