Jordan- 56 COVID deaths, 3,108 cases recorded
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov 28 (Petra) The Ministry of Health said Saturday that 56 coronavirus deaths and 3,108 infections were recorded across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll to 2,626 and the total number of cases to 210,709.
The infections were: 1,089 in Amman, 755 in Irbid, including 166 in Ramtha district, 349 in Karak, 271 in Ajloun, 160 in Balqa, 108 in Mafraq, 104 in Madaba, 86 in Zarqa, 61 in Aqaba, 61 in Jerash, 46 in Tafileha and 18 in Ma'an, 9 of them in Petra, according to the daily report by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry.
It said that the number of currently active COVID-19 cases has reached 65,373, while 173 patients were admitted to hospitals and 95 were discharged after they recovered.
The statement said that a total of 1,985 cases are currently hospitalized, of whom 464 are in intensive care.
It also said that 2,373 virus cases in hospitals and in home quarantine recovered today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 142,710.
According to the daily brief, 17,755 COVID swab tests were taken today, raising the total number of examinations conducted since the outbreak to 2,505,316, pointing out that the positivity rate today was about 17.5 per cent.
The Ministry called for adherence to defence orders, and to follow preventive measures, especially wearing masks and avoiding gatherings of more than 20 people, in addition to following the awareness campaign launched by the ministry to prevent infection and encourage others to protect their families and community.
