Bangladesh born Republican Aboul Khan wins in New Hampshire House

(MENAFN- NewsIn.Asia) November 5 (The New Nation) - Bangladesh born Aboul Khan has been elected as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives for the fourth times.

Aboul Khan got 3,444 votes on Tuesday's US election while his rival Patricia O'Keefe of Democratic Party bagged 2,448 votes.

In an instant reaction Aboul Khan said: "I feel great. This is my district where I have been working as its representative for the last six years and grateful to the people who came out and supported me. I promise to work hard for their interests."

Thanking everyone, in a Facebook post, he said: "Honorable veterans,

respectable residents in Seabrook and Hampton Falls - thank you for your support and vote in today's (Tuesday) historical election. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the property owners who let me put my campaign signs on their property. I will continue to work hard to bring your questions and concerns to the state house. Together, we will work to make our district (Seabrook/Hampton Falls) and the state of New Hampshire a great and prosperous place to live. Thank you and God Bless America."

Aboul Khan, the father of two children, was born in Bhandaria Upazila of Pirojpur district of Bangladesh and migrated to the United States in 1981.

Four candidates of Bangladeshi origin have taken part in US election.
