Abidemi Babatunde Babalola
(MENAFN- The Conversation) Dr. Abidemi Babatunde Babalola received his B.A and M.A in Archaeology from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan Nigeria, and his Ph.D. in Anthropological Archaeology from Rice University, Houston Texas with specialization in the archaeology of pryotechnologies, emergence of complex societies, and exchange and trade. Dr. Babalola is currently the Smuts Research Fellow at the Center of African Studies and a Fellow of the McDonald Institute of Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge. Before joining the University of Cambridge, he was the McMillan Stewart Fellow at the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, W.E.B. Du Bois Institute, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Anthropology, Harvard University, United States of America. He is a research affiliate of the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Centre of the Cyprus Institute, Nicosia Cyprus. Dr. Babalola's research on the archaeology of glass in sub-Saharan Africa with special emphasis on Ile-Ife Southwest Nigeria has brought a new insight into the global discourse of the invention, innovation, and spread of glass technology.
