Government plans to ban Ukrainians from traveling to Belarus with domestic passports

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers plans to consider a draft resolution on the partial suspension of the effect of the Ukrainian-Belarusian intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travel for citizens, providing for a ban on travel to Belarus with a passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

This is stated in the agenda of the government meeting on May 13, which was published on the government website.

The explanatory note to the respective draft resolution proposes canceling from September 1, 2020 the possibility for Ukrainian citizens to cross the Ukrainian-Belarusian border with a passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

It also notes that the changes will apply only to the departure of Ukrainian citizens to Belarus. When entering Ukraine from Belarus, Ukrainians will be able to use a domestic passport.
