Sri Lanka- Salons allowed to resume operations
(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The Ministry of Health has granted approval for Beauty Parlours and Salons to resume limited operations.
Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi had taken the decision following a discussion with health officials and members from the beauty industry on the obstacles and necessary measures to be taken to restart operations under health guidelines.
Salons will be permitted to conduct services, including hair cuts, and have been advised to strictly adhere to the health guidelines issued by the Ministry.
The decision has been taken, as some beauticians and salons had attempted to operate privately as a result of their businesses being closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.
Minister Wanniarachchi said that such attempts could help further spread the coronavirus, and lead to a dangerous situation.
In an attempt to avoid such a breakout, the Ministry held a discussion with the relevant field experts yesterday and has decided to permit limited operation of beauty parlours and salons. (Colombo Gazette)
