Qatar- Bolivia interm leader Anez to run in


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Bolivia' Interim Preident Jeanine Anez on Friday aid he would tand in the May 3 preidential election, which come after the reignation of Evo Morale in November.

&lquo;I have made the deciion to tand a a candidate in the national election,' Anez aid in a peech.

A little-known enator, Anez aumed the preidency on November 12, two day after Morale reigned following three week of ometime violent protet againt hi controverial re-election in a poll the Organization of American State aid wa rigged.

&lquo;I had not planned to participate in thi election,' Anez aid, explaining that he had finally decided to tand due to the lack of unity among the oppoition to Morale' Movement for Socialim (MAS) party, which i leading the poll.

However, the poll were carried out before economit Lui Arce announced he will tand in the election, backed by the MAS.

&lquo;The diperion of vote and candidacie led me to make thi deciion,' aid Anez.

According to a poll publihed in early January by the Pagina Siete newpaper, the MAS lead voting intention with 20.7 percent, followed by Anez -- who wa not yet a candidate -- with 15.6 percent and centrit candidate and former preident Carlo Mea on 13.8 percent.
