'I was first offered a Pashto film by the owner of Arshid Cinema in Peshawar through my dress designer Babu,' she said.
The actress said 'Zargia Khura Daghoona' was her first Pashto film and it was also first film of Arshid Khan as director. She said she worked with Arshid Khan in the movie which was greatly liked by the audience and it got good response on the box office. She said she got so much fame and love from her debut Pashto movie that she decided to stay here and do more movies for the audience.
Sidra Noor is not totally satisfied with the existing condition of Pashto film industry. She admits that there is shortage of quality films nowadays. She thinks non-utilisation of modern technology is one of the main reasons behind this issue.
Sidra told TNN that the movie producers are embracing modern technology gradually, but they are still not fully acquainted with its optimum use. She said the taste of the audience has changed a lot and they no longer watch movies produced with out-dated technology.
Like other Pashto showbiz personalities, Sidra is also a bit concerned over the fact that artists don't enjoy the status and honour in the society which they really deserve. She said this fact is not only pushing the artists out from the screen, but also from their own standards.
Sidra said the present government has taken commendable steps for promotion of showbiz. She criticised the former governments over ban on dance in stage dramas and shows. She questioned the logic behind ban on dance at stage shows when nowadays boys and girls and even bride and groom dance at almost every wedding function at their homes and wedding halls. However, she agreed that an artist must uphold decency during the dance performance.
