(MENAFN)
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released a report on Friday showing that the gas storage in the U.S. dropped 4.72 percent, or 161 billion cubic feet, to set at 3,250 billion cubic feet in the week ending on the 20th of December.
The EIA's Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report showed that the working gas storage saw a rise of 19 percent since the same time of the earlier year, coming in at 2.1 percent under the 5 year average but still in line of the 5 year range.
The storage of working gas usually drops in November and a downward trend until late April when heating season ends in the U.S.
Working gas is the amount of natural gas that is stored underground that can be taken for use.
