2.3 percent surge in Egyptian non-oil exports


(MENAFN) Egypt's Ministry of Trade and Industry announced the country to have registered a boost by 2.3 percent year-on-year in its exports of non-oil commodities from January to October 2019 to stand at USD21.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the ministry unveiled in a statement, Egyptian non-oil imports hit USD57.7 billion to mark a 3 percent drop from the USD59.4 billion recorded during the same period last year.

According to the ministry, "the increase of exports positively reflected on the deficit of balance of trade, which declined by 6 percent."

Egypt further witnessed a significant increase during the period in its exports of foodstuff, agricultural crops, garments and engineering products, as stated head of the General Organization of Export and Import Control Ismail Gaber.
