Fawry Dahab to provide e-payment solutions for Cairo's public utilities

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Cairo governorate has signed a cooperation protocol with Fawry Dahab Electronic Services to provide e-payment solutions for all public utilities affiliated to Cairo's executive authority.

The signing ceremony was attended by Cairo Governor Khaled Abd El-Aal and CEO of Fawry Ashraf Sabry, as well as several governorate officials.

The new agreement comes in the framework of the state's plan of switching into a cashless society to facilitate the process of payment for public services to citizens.

Fawry Dahab – a subsidiary of Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments – provides its e-payment services mainly for public utilities such as electricity, water bills, and traffic services.

Commenting on the agreement, Abd El-Aal said that automating the payment for governorate's utilities, including rents and car licensing, comes after the success of the automation experience of some state institutions, which has eased the burden on citizens.

"Cairo residents can now pay for the public services the governorate provides, either through the governorate's website or Fawry outlets nationwide," Abd El-Aal added.

For his part, Sabry stressed on the importance of this new agreement with Cairo being the country's capital which accommodates a large population. It's a big start for the digital transformation in Egypt, he added.

Cairo's automated public services include rents, instalments of housing units, advertising licenses, traffic services, and others.
