U.S. to expand trade cooperation with Kazakhstan


(MENAFN) Bilateral trade between the United States and Kazakhstan during the first half of 2019 climbed by 31.8 percent to stand at USD1.1 billion, reflecting the strength of relations between the two countries.

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale engaged in talks with Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin on boosting collaboration in fields of trade, economy and investment.

A statement revealed that "the parties noted the importance of implementing the agreements concluded between the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of the United States Donald Trump during an official visit to the United States in 2018."

It added: "the USA is one of the largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan. Between 2005 and 2018, the gross inflow of direct investment from the United States to Kazakhstan amounted to $40 billion."
