Qatar- Paratroopers conclude first phase of US exercises


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) A paratroopers' battalion of the mobile special forces, part of the Joint Special Forces Special Forces, completed the first phase of exercises taking place in the United States at Skydive Elsinore in the state of California.

The exercise was six weeks long and participants trained on 1000 feet jumps.
More than 300 dives were executed, in addition to skydives with military gear weighting 40 kilograms.
HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces Major General Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri said that the exercise was part of a plan to establish a Qatari Commando Unit from elite personnel that can defend the country and carry out highly-critical special missions.
He added that the exercise help the personnel acquire the skills required in a Joint Special Forces Soldier.
