10,666 pilgrims to go for Hajj this year from Kuwait


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Director General of Civil Aviation Engineer Yousif Al-Fawazan affirmed that 10,666 pilgrims will leave for the holy land this year via the main Kuwait International Airport and T4 to perform the rites of the pilgrimage aboard Kuwait Airways, Saudi Airlines, and NAS Airways, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al- Fawzan pointed out that six Kuwait Airways vessels will transport 1,336 passengers and 15 Saudi Airways flights 6,030 passengers, while 3,300 passengers will travel aboard 11NAS flights.

He indicated the first batch of pilgrims will travel to the holy land on Aug 4 aboard Saudi Airways, noting the pilgrims have been distributed according to the size of aircraft and number of seats.

He reiterated that Civil Aviation Authority has coordinated with the airlines, Interior Ministry, and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs with regard to the mechanism of departure for pilgrims in terms of approvals, security licenses, and facilitation of the travel procedures in collaboration with the officials of Saudi Arabia
