Kuwait customs confiscates fake goods
(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 4: Customs officers seized counterfeit goods, including perfumes, cosmetics, toys and sports bags carrying the names of well-known international brands which arrived at the Shuwaikh port in five 40- foot containers from Gulf and Asian countries, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Director-General of the General Administration of Customs, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, has issued instructions to prepare a record as a violation of intellectual property rights and destroy the goods.
The daily said Deputy Director-General for Ports Affairs, Sheikh Faisal Al- Abdullah, received a notification from the Director of the Northern Ports Customs Saleh Al-Harbi, about the arrival of containers to the port of Shuwaikh and after opening the containers found imitation goods which were to be sold in the market as original products.
