Sri Lanka- CEYPETCO resumes fuel distribution to CEB
(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has resumed distributing fuel supplies to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) after talks were held to resolve an issue, trade unions said.
CPC had decided to suspend fuel distribution to the CEB from this week over a dispute.
CPC claimed that the CEB has an outstanding payment of over Rs. 90 billion and is also indirectly blocking the construction of a new pipeline to transfer fuel from vessels at sea to the Kollonawa oil storage facility.
CPC trade unions alleged that Minister of Power Energy and Business Development Ravi Karunanayake was involved in preventing the new pipeline project from being completed.
As a result they decided to suspend fuel distribution to the CEB this week.
However, talks were held today to resolve the dispute and following the talks it was decided to resume fuel distribution to the CEB. (Colombo Gazette)
