Shanghai presents Galileo's life
(MENAFN) A Chinese version of German classic play Life of Galileo will be performed from July 5 to 14 in the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, the Italian legend Galileo was an astronomer and physicist.
It's one of German writer Bertolt Brecht's greatest masterworks; the play was written in 1938 and achieved its first theatrical production at the Zurich Schauspielhaus, Switzerland, in September 1943.
The play shows the career of the Italian legend and how he struggled to prove the Copernican theory of a heliocentric universe.
The Chinese version is directed by Ivan Panteleev from the Deutsches Theater Berlin.
