S. Korea, Sweden agree to expand innovation ties


(MENAFN) South Korea is seeking to strengthen its innovation cooperation with Sweden, as President Moon Jae-in headed on a trip for discussions on the matter.

Talks on innovation, inclusivity and the Korean Peninsula issue were addressed during the visit the South Korean made to mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between both countries.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven reached an agreement with the president on boosting innovation collaboration.

Under the agreement, the two sides will be establishing a start-up center in Stockholm for South Korean businesses.

Ibrahim Baylan, Swedish Minister for Business, Industry and Innovation, stated: "as two of the world's most innovative countries, Sweden and South Korea have a great deal to learn from each other and many reasons to cooperate on new technology, digitalisation and sustainability issues."
