Turkish warplanes continue to attack PKK terror positions in N. Iraq

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkish Defense Ministry stated that Turkish warplanes continued to strike PKK terror positions on second day in northern Iraq.

Turkish air attacks completely damaged weapon positions, shelters, and ammunition dumps used by PKK terrorists in the Avasin-Basyan region, the ministry emphasized. On Monday the air raids had shelled PKK terrorist installations in the Hakurk region.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK - considered as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU - has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 40,000 people, including women and children.
