Kuwait- No power cut during Ramadan to bachelor homes


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, May 14: The Ministry of Electricity and Water revealed that there has been no cut off of power supply to the homes of so-called bachelors during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the month of compassion, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting informed sources.



The same sources told the daily the suspension came upon instructions of the Minister of Municipality Fahd Al- Shoula. Nonetheless, the sources added, the campaigns will resume after the Holy Month. On the other hand, deputy of the judicial control unit in the ministry, Ahmad Al-Shammari said that the team which was formed to check on wastage of power, on the first day of the campaign in three provinces, Ahmadi, Farwaniya and the Capital discovered five violations under Law 48 of 2005 and various ministerial decisions.





Al-Shammari said the raids are ongoing throughout the day. The team receives various complaints from the electricity officials and the public relations department of the ministry, the call center and citizens. He explained, the team in such cases moves to ascertain the occurrence of the violations, if any, and the violators are obliged to sign a pledge not to repeat those violations in addition to forcing the violating party to pay all existing dues to the Ministry of Electricity.
