Iraqi forces kill 7 IS leasers in Diyala
(MENAFN) On Sunday, Iraqi security forces murdered seven Leaders of Daesh organization in the eastern province of Diyala, a security source emphasized.
A joint force of the Iraqi intelligence service and Counter-Terrorism Service carried out airdrop operations on IS hideouts in Himreen mountain range, nearly 65 km east of the provincial capital Baquba, Sadiq al-Husseini, head of the security committee in Diyala's provincial council, informed Xinhua.
The operations ended up with the murder of seven IS leaders in Diyala, including Abu Idris, dealing the newest major blow to the radical group in the province, al-Husseini stated.
The murdered leaders are the mastermind behind IS aggression and terrorist attacks in the province, al-Husseini affirmed, adding the operations conducted by the security forces were not easy as the IS leaders were hiding in rugged areas and inside underground hideouts.
