China agrees with Burundi to boost mutual ties


(MENAFN) China and Burundi made a deal to boost bilateral ties during a senior Chinese legislator's visit to the country.

Both sides enjoy deep traditional friendship and joint relations have entered the best period in history under the leadership of the two heads of state, said vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

At the invitation of the National Assembly of Burundi, the vice chairman led a delegation to Burundi from Sunday to Tuesday, during which he met with Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza and acting Senate Speaker, and held talks with President of Burundian National Assembly Pascal Nyabenda.

China is set to stick to the principles of sincerity, practical results, resemblance and good faith, and uphold the values of friendship, justice and shared interests in working together with the Burundian side to implement the consensuses reached by the two leaders and the outcome of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, he added.
