Sri Lanka- Tissa Attanayake forged documents case to be withdrawn

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The case filed against former United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Tissa Attanayake is to be withdrawn.

Attanayake was accused of producing forged documents during the 2015 Presidential elections.

Tissa Attanayake had claimed that there was a secret agreement between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Tamil National Alliance leader R. Sampanthan during the 2015 Presidential elections.

Attanayake displayed documents with the signatures of Sirisena and Wickremesinghe in 2015 claiming it was the agreement reached with the TNA.

However Sirisena and Wickremesinghe had denied the allegations and a case was filed against Attanayake. (Colombo Gazette)
