Energy and Coal Industry Ministry to cooperate with USAID on cyber security


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The officials of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry and representatives of the DAI company discussed opportunities for improving the USAID assistance package on developing the cyber security system in Ukraine.

The meeting was held to exchange experience and discuss issues on improving the future assistance package for Ukraine to enhance cybersecurity, as well as possible cooperation in implementing projects on strengthening Ukraine's cyber security system, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry's press service reported.

It is noted that the delegation of the DAI company arrived in Kyiv as a potential executor of the USAID program.

State Secretary of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry Maksym Nemchynov has said that the ministry is currently working on strengthening the cyber defense of critical energy infrastructure objects and cyber security of the ministry itself as a central executive body.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on the development of proposals for further possible cooperation.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is an independent agency of the US Federal Government that is primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aidanddevelopment assistance. The main areas of the agency´s work include, in particular, support for trade, agriculture, economic growth in more than 100 countries around the world.
