Qatar eyes USD35b in LNG greenfield investments

(MENAFN) Qatar is seeking to yield over USD35 billion in greenfield investments in order to help impose hikes on its liquefied natural gas (LNG) capacity.

Under an expansion project, Qatar is aiming to strengthen its LNG capacity to stand at 110 million tonnes per annum this year.

It comes while Rystad Energy is expecting limitations to be imposed on plans that need over USD240 billion in greenfield investments, nearly 25 percent from the Middle East.

Greenfield investments from the Middle East, Rystad Energy added, could reach this year USD56 billion to see more than six times the investments sanctioned last year.
