Poland Restricts Chinese Vehicles from Military Sites Over Security Fear
(MENAFN) Poland has prohibited Chinese-made vehicles from entering military facilities amid fears that onboard sensors could collect sensitive data, as stated by reports.
The Polish Army said that such vehicles may still be allowed on site if specific functions are disabled and additional safeguards required by each facility’s security rules are implemented. To further reduce the risk of confidential data being exposed, the military also banned connecting phones to infotainment systems in Chinese-made vehicles.
The restrictions do not apply to publicly accessible military locations such as hospitals, clinics, libraries, prosecutors’ offices, or garrison clubs, according to the statement.
Officials described the measures as precautionary, noting that they are consistent with practices followed by NATO members and other allies to maintain high levels of protection for defense infrastructure.
