(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist shooting attack on two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, which killed and wounded over dozens of people.

Kuwait affirms its full stand and solidarity with New Zealand, and support of all measures it carries out to preserve its security and safety of its people and residents, an official foreign Ministry source stated Friday.

The GCC-member state reiterates its principled and firm stand against all forms and manifestations of terrorism and violence, it added.

It also urges the international community to exert further efforts to eliminate violence and terrorism that target nations' security and stability, and human beings' safety, stressed the source.

Kuwait expresses sincere condolences and sorrow to the victims' families, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded, said the source.

At least one gunman sprayed worshippers with a hail of gunfire at two mosques in Christchurch earlier, killing 40 people and wounding 20 others. (end) ma
