Symposium on Empowering Women Inaugurated in Riyadh

Riyadh, Mar 7, 2019, SPA -- A symposium on empowering women co-organized by the Human Rights Commission and the United Nations Office in Riyadh was inaugurated here today, in the presence of Minister of Civil Service Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan, members of the diplomatic corps in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, representatives of government entities and international organizations, ambassadors, civil society institutions, specialists and interested people.
In a key speech, President of Human Rights Commission Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proceeding towards empowering women and enhancing their participation in the development.
The symposium reviewed the Kingdom's efforts in promoting women's rights as well as a number of successful experiences of Saudi women in various fields.
