Bouteflika warns against chaos during peaceful protests
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS, March 7 (KUNA) -- Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika warned that peaceful protests against his running for a fifth term next April could be used by some groups to create chaos in the country.
The president's letter was read by Minister of Post, Information Technology and Communication Iman-Houda Feraouno on Thursday, for the ocassion of the International Women's Day on March 8.
Bouteflika noted that Algeria had granted its people the right of peaceful demonstration and freedom of speech.
He underlined the role of Algerian women in facing terrorism and defending the country against all threats throughout Algeria's difficult and unstable years.
He also called on all citizens to unite for the benefit of their country and focus on rebuilding Algeria. (end) mr.ag
