Sri Lanka- Gota defends students being punished by teachers
(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has defended students being punished by their school teachers.
He said that students who were punished in the past have gone on to become leaders in society both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Rajapaksa said that punishing students ensured a positive and not negative future for the country.
However, he said that foreign influence and opinions have resulted in the progress of the country being stalled. (Colombo Gazette)
