Turkey: forces detain nearly 35 illegal migrants in Kirklareli

(MENAFN) As many as 33 illegal migrants were detained in northwestern Turkey, security sources emphasized on Saturday.

The local gendarmerie forces launched an operation upon a tip-off, capturing five separate groups in Kirklareli province, close to the border with Bulgaria, affirmed the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.

The migrants - Afghan, Iraqi, Iranian and Pakistani nationals - were allegedly arranging to unlawfully cross to Europe, the sources confirmed.

They were later referred to provincial migration directorate.
