US troops killed in IS explosion in Syria
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- US service members were killed during a "routine patrol" in a Syrian city on Wednesday but it is unclear how many died, said Operation Inherent Resolve on Twitter.
This is the first attack since US President Donald Trump announced plans to withdraw US troops from Syria.
"The President has been fully briefed and we will continue to monitor the ongoing situation in Syria," said Spokesperson Sarah Sanders to reporters at the White House.
"We are still gathering information and will share additional details at a later time," the coalition added. (end) ak.mt
