Migrant workers allegedly stole from arcade claw crane machine

Two Indonesian migrant workers from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, who reportedly failed in many attempts to grab a prize from an arcade claw crane machine, allegedly used magnets to steal headphones from it in the early hours of Thursday.

At around 2am on November 29, two men were seen acting suspiciously, according to the owner surnamed Tsai, who used CCTV to monitor his claw machine arcade on Pinghe Road in Kaohsiung City, The Real Daily reported.

Tsai dashed back to his store, where he intercepted the two men who had allegedly stolen two bluetooth headsets by extracting them from the machine using powerful magnets.

The two perpetrators, who were workers in a factory in Yong'an District, admitted to the police that they had tried many times to win the prizes, but had never managed to do so.

Noting that the bluetooth device was enclosed in a metal case, they made use of discarded Neodymium magnets from their workplace and visited the store after midnight to carry out the theft.
