Geniuses from Oman excel at 4th International Abacus Competition


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The 4th edition of the Brainobrain International Competition, an event to test mental arithmetic in children, was a huge success.

A host of talented kids displayed their skill in computation while attaining record-winning results. Children from around the world competed with each other in a quick three-minute challenge, where they used Abacus and their mental ability to solve complicated sums.

Children from Brainobrain Oman displayed exemplary performance and earned applause and laurels.

Twenty-one children from Oman bagged Champion Trophies, the highest accolade, 19 kids were awarded with Gold Topper Medals and three were merited with Silver Topper Medals. The names of these children along with the titles that they attained are as follows.

The Champions were Samuel Joe Braganza, Pradhiyuin K, Krishna Karthikeyan, Maryam Saud Ali al Sulaimi, Ishi Gupta, Akshara Sinha, Ali Saud Ali al Sulaimi, Shreesha Bhat, Mehreen Fatima Bhamla, Aliya Imran Ali Ahmed, Sowparnika Vinoth S V, Damodar Krishna Das, Atika Srivastava, Angela Mariam Jacob, Mahroos Jahad Moosa Abdallah al Hattali, Shreya Arun Umrani, Wania Kashif, Naga Sai Suhas Kamaraju, Sidarth D Pagui, Dhruv D Pagui and Sanjhana V.

The Gold Toppers were Aniket Singh Rajaputra, Maryam Raffi Usman, Minnah Fathima, Anuraag Balakrishnan, Amogh Nayak, Rayan P Nair, Niranjan Suraj, Sukesh Krishnakumar, Pranav Sivakumar, Theertha Jayakumar, Anvi Kashyap, Nuhaa Noorain, Aarna Santosh Kale, Jairus Dominic P Gohel, Al Mukhtar Abdullah Khalfan Saif al Adhubi, Kouvidh Sogani, Taisha Sogani, Wania Khan and Laxmi Naarayanan R.

The Silver Toppers are Shoubhit Rahul Jagtap, Satva Sanjaykumar Savalia and Varun B V.

Competitions like this provide children with the opportunity to build confidence, improve their skill quotient and also interact with a larger group. Last year, the event saw the participation of over 3,000 contestants from all over the world. Brainobrain is extremely privileged that their children are earning accolades on an international level.

The encouragement and support from the parent community was incredible. 'This commendable organisation is helping every child bring out their inner strength and talents to its full potential and making them confident to face the world. I'm proud of my child Aliya, who won the Champion Trophy in the 4th International Abacus Competition,' said Nilofar Imran Ali Ahmed.'

Constantly striving to do better and bigger, Brainobrain Oman is currently preparing to host the 2nd National Abacus Competition on February 16, 2019. Arul Subramaniam, international managing director (Technical), said, 'Actions speak louder than words. We believe in action rather than trumpeting our success stories. Our little champs brought us glory and fame worldwide. We are now looking forward to the National Competition to be held at Oman in February.'
