Oman- Peruvian tenor and Egyptian soprano to perform at ROHM

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- East meets West in a fabulous operatic concert as world-famous Peruvian tenor, Juan Diego Flórez will perform with the brightly rising star, Egyptian soprano, Fatma Said at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) on Thursday.

The brilliant combination of Flórez and Fatma on stage singing solo as well as together makes for a gala event that is bound to thrill both regional and international patrons. Flórez made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 2002, with return engagements at the Met that included Tonio in Donizetti's La Fille du Régiment, when, like Pavarotti before him, Flórez famously thrilled audiences by reaching nine successive high C's in the daunting aria, Ah! Mes Amis, stated a press release.

In 2013, Fatma won a scholarship to study at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and has the distinction of performing at the illustrious Teatro alla Scala. Chosen as one of BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists in 2016, Fatma's star continues to rise.

This will be Fatma's third engagement at the Royal Opera House Muscat, after her charming performance as Nanetta in Verdi's Falstaff in 2015 and her powerful performance in a gala opera recital in 2016.

The two singing stars are accompanied by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra under the baton of the award-winning Spanish conductor, Guillermo García Calvo who has the great distinction of conducting more than 200 performances at the world-famous Vienna State Opera. The performances will be on Thursday at 7pm. For further information and booking consult www.rohmuscat.org.om
