Kuwaiti delegates examine Qatar's airport security capabilities


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Security delegates from Kuwait examined Qatar's airport security and checked the means, devices, and modern technologies used to ease the passenger's arrival and departure process.
The delegates headed by Director General of the General Directorate of Airport Security Major-General Waleed Al-Saleh visited Hamad International Airport on Sunday and get acquainted with the security systems and modern technologies used for inspection and surveillance to safeguard the safety of the travelers and air traffic control.
The delegates were provided with a detailed presentation on the tasks of the administration of airport management and information technology used in electronic gates for departure and arrival.
Al-Saleh praised Qatar's experience in airport security, pointing to Hamad International Airport's security management and the information technology means that contribute to facilitation of airport traffic.
He also assured the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of airport and port security capabilities in addition to other areas as stipulated in relevant agreements.
Director of the Security department of Hamad International Airport Brigadier Essa Al-Rumaihi said that this visit came within the framework of ongoing cooperation and coordination between Qatar and Kuwait, and that Doha was keen on the exchange of experiences in this field.
Al-Rumaihi added the delegates checked out the latest devices like the smart robotic security that identifies suspects and detects weapons, explosives, counterfeits currencies and credit cards as well as other illegal objects.
The Director of airport passport at Doha's airport Brigadier Mohammad Al-Mazroui also added that the delegates from Kuwait witnessed the modern systems used inside the airport which ease and smooth the passport process of the travelers. (end) nnd.aq
