Drunken Filipina rescued after falling into the sea

A Filipina was rescued by two men after she jumped off a pier on outlying island Cheung Chau on Friday. Shortly after midnight, the Filipina had been sitting alone near the Cheung Chau Ferry Pier and appeared to be drunk, the Oriental Daily reported.

The woman suddenly stood up and jumped off the pier and then could not get out of the water. Two local men who were fishing at the pier saw her jump in the water and they leapt into the sea and pulled her out. They then called the police.

Police and firefighters arrived and found the woman was unhurt. Officers believed she was drunk and when she jumped into the sea. After some rest, the woman refused to go to hospital for a check-up and left the scene.
