Lebanon's MP stresses need to expand Rafic Hariri Int'l Airport
(MENAFN) Lebanon's Member of Parliament Nazih Najm reportedly highlighted the necessity for developing Rafic Hariri International Airport (RHIA) along with upgrading its equipment.
Elnashra reported, citing the parliament member "we need to expand the airport in a way that would increase its capacity to host 8 million passengers per year in addition to renewing its cooling systems, toilets, power generators and buying new baggage conveyers."
It comes after Lebanon's Finance Ministry accepted an USD18 million in funding for the expansion of the RHIA.
The funding has been approved after witnessing a steady boost in the number of the airport's passengers ever since 2008.
