Free petrol service for these UAE residents

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Those who suffer from asthma or have chronic illnesses or conditions which are aggravated by the smell of gasoline, can ask for help at the petrol pump without paying the service fee.

Adnoc distribution had earlier instated a service fee of Dh10 for those wishing to remain in their cars and avail of a worker's assistance in filling up their fuel tank, as per Emarat Al Youm report.

Such persons have two options in such cases. They can avail of the service, pay the Dh10, and then retrieve it through the rewards programme. The second option is to speak to the petrol pump manager, showing and explaining their health condition, after which they will be assisted.

There are no segments of the population who are exempt from the service fees, except the elderly and people of determination. All service fee exemptions will be considered on an individual basis and will be left to the discretion of the gasoline pump manager.

This is in addition to humanitarian cases such as pregnant women or the ill.

The service fee has been instated in Abu Dhabi and its surrounding areas since the end of June.

A rewards programme was instated simultaneously, with those who buy coffee, refreshments, or tissues from the Waha outlets at the petrol station will be reimbursed for the service fee.
