China's envoy to Syria says political settlement to solve crisis
(MENAFN) On Sunday, China's Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan said that a political settlement is the only way out of the ongoing Syrian crisis, Xinhua reported.
Urging the involved countries to de-escalate the situation and resort to dialogue instead, Xie expressed concern over the present situation in the war-torn Syria.
Speaking at a press conference in Cairo, he said "Speaking at a press conference in Cairo," adding that Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity should be respected.
The official expressed his country's rejection of any military solution to the Syrian crisis, calling on all involved parties to return to the track of peace talks.
