(MENAFN) Egypt and the World Bank were confirmed to have signed a USD500 million deal for the development of pre-university education.
Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr was confirmed to have signed the agreement with World Bank Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti Asad Alam on the sidelines of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings.
The purpose behind the deal is to back the Egyptian Education Reform project which aims to develop teaching and learning within the educational system in the country, the World Bank explained.
The Egyptian project is to be under process for five years, pushing for improved quality for about 500,000 kindergarten students, along with providing training for 500,000 teachers and education officials.
