US Olympic chief quits over health grounds

(MENAFN) The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) has had its chief stand down on health grounds.

Chief Executive Scott Blackmun, who had been condemned over an abuse scandal, has declared he was struggling with prostate cancer.

The news of his resignation had been declared together with plans that aim to engage in abuse elimination.

It comes after former Olympic doctor Larry Nassar had been charged of abuse and sent to serve a jail term a month ago.
