New initiative to regulate leisure marine activities in Dubai


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has unveiled the features of 'Sea Dubai', an initiative that is based on facilitating recreational maritime activities.

Launched on the sidelines of the Dubai International Boat Show, Sea Dubai is key to promote Dubai's tourism sector.

The authority has showcased the initiative's role in speeding up and facilitating the registration and licensing of sailing permits; the identification of specific maritime speeds; the identification of permitted tourist areas to sail; the identification of places of rest; floating restaurants; marinas and yachts; as well as working with companies engaged in renting maritime crafts.

"This initiative sets solid foundations for the regulation of maritime leisure working mechanism within local territorial waters, referring to the ambitious goals to make Dubai a leading global leisure tourism destination," said Amer Ali, executive director of DMCA.
